I don't have much to report, overall my project is running smoothly. I am keeping on-track with my timeline which is nice. I've decided that instead of growing two rounds of milkweed seeds and manipulating variables between the two, I'm going to remove two of the lights on the hydroponic system. This means that half of the milkweed seeds will grow in the whatever natural light my lab supplies, and the other half will grow in the artificial light. That keeps the variables I manipulate to a minimum without any outside force impacting it, and allows me to have more time to study the sap (and grow the seeds because they take a while to sprout). As for the basil, it is growing rapidly! I have huge leaves on some, and the others are progressing nicely. My plan is to leave the basil to grow over winter break (I'll come in and check every so often) but hopefully by January I will be ready for the transfer!
