Today is the day before we go on Thanksgiving break for a little over a week and I finalized all aspects of my project pertaining to basil. I hooked up the pump (correctly this time) as well as grow lights and set timers for them so they run on a schedule for the next 11 days. I filled up the basin with water and my nutrient solution and, finally, placed the newly sprouted basil plants in the holes of the hydroponic system. The entire process has run for 24 hours already and the plants were completely watered when I came in the next morning, proving its ability to function properly. In 11 days I will return to the lab and (hopefully) have fully grown basil!! Next step: milkweed :)
