SO. MUCH. MILKWEED!!

Today I came back to a new semester, new teachers, new classes, new everything, including new progress with my research project! Before I left for the weekend, I took my liaison (Ms. Labbate's) advice and "bag sprouted". What this means is that I put some seeds on a damp paper towel, folded it over multiple times, and placed it in a bag for a few days under my grow lights to recreate a greenhouse effect. It successfully worked, after many months of seeing only one or two milkweed sprouts per batch of 50 or more seeds. This rev elation has changed the face of my project entirely, and I am contemplating writing up a report summing up my findings. My next steps are to continue to water these sprouts (which are now replanted in rockwool cubes with a decent amount of vermiculite to sustain their water supply), rebuild the tower garden (since I took it all apart an cleaned it), and figure out the correct concentration of nutrients to put into the basin once the milkweed is large enough to be replanted.
