Today I finished planting the Gourmet Lettuce I'm using to test my hydroponic system. I soaked the rock wool cubes in water for 30 minutes, planted around 6 seeds in each hole, then filled the holes with vermiculite to retain water. I then placed this set-up in a container with 1/4 inch of water at the bottom. My hope is that in the next one to two weeks the seeds will begin to sprout and shortly after I will be able to transfer them to the hydroponic system.
